Cynthia Gilliam
Principal/President
As principal and president of Semaphore, Cynthia is the chief strategist for many agency accounts. Reviewing creative and budgets, planning project completion strategies and communicating with clients are just a few of her day-to-day activities at the agency. She is also a contact for prospective clients looking for marketing communications assistance.
Prior to founding Semaphore, Cynthia was creative director of a regional agency and a broadcasting executive responsible for public affairs programming and community needs research for six minority radio stations located throughout the Southeast.
At Semaphore, Cynthia’s past and present client list includes: The National Bank of SC (NBSC); The Electric Cooperatives of SC; Piedmont Power; Bay Point Resort & Country Club, Panama City, Florida; DISCO Aluminum Products Company, Selma, Alabama; Cogsdill Tool Products Company, Camden, SC; Columbia College; The SC Technical College System; Three Rivers Behavioral Health; and SC State University. She was the creative director for the original Richtex riddle billboard campaign.
She is a member of the advisory board for The Salvation Army of the South Carolina Midlands, is past VP for the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Rotary Club of Columbia.
