| Semaphore wins Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award
Semaphore Inc. is a Silver Award winner in the 2010 Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award competition for its work with Central Electric Power Cooperative.
Semaphore was recognized in the Consumer Services category for its “Help My House” direct mail campaign. The purpose of the campaign was to encourage co-op members to apply for free home energy improvements from their electric cooperative. The campaign exceeded expectations, resulting in a 48 percent increase in applications.
The Summit MEA competition is based on the premise that the goal of marketing communications is to change, influence or reinforce a target audience's knowledge, attitudes, or beliefs. During the 2010 event, judges analyzed submissions and selected only 14% to receive the top spots. Companies and individuals from more than 50 countries across five continents participate annually in the awards program.

Each year about this time, The State newspaper publishes a list of leading SC ad agencies showing, amongst other facts and figures, the agency's billings as verified by a CPA. The State will not require this independent verification this year and so Semaphore has declined The State's offer to participate.
Agency to close for Labor Day, Columbus Day
Semaphore will be closed Monday, Sept. 6 in observance of Labor Day, and Monday, Oct. 11 for Columbus Day.
