esources November 2004

In November's esources, we thank some giving clients, welcome a staff member, introduce a new campaign, premiere our first intra-agency contest, and talk turkey about much much more!

Features

Money Matters
Who are you? "Positioning" for small service businesses and some tips for how to be a bigger fish in a small pond.

Business Beat
It's time to say thanks! Thanks to many of our clients for their community service. Semaphore highlights a few good works that should not go un-noticed. (Go ahead, toot your own horn; outreach is a great way to let the community know you are here!)

In the Web
New websites recently launched by Semaphore demonstrate distinctive forms and functions.

Semaphore News

Semaphore helps get out the vote
In the Nov. 2 general election ballot, two Semaphore campaign clients successfully passed referenda: Newberry County maintained a one-cent sales tax for continued countywide infrastructure improvements and Richland School District 2 got the voter OK for a bond to improve and build new schools. These campaigns included newspaper inserts, billboards, direct mail and radio (Newberry).

Fit for a king
Semaphore is creating a logo for Sovereign, Columbia's custom home builders. It will be featured on stationary, letterhead, business cards and the new company website. The Semaphore-designed site will be the company's marketing vehicle as well as a central web address for Sovereign's new homeowners to track construction progress and paperwork.

More awards!
The National Rural Economic Developers Association (NREDA) named Palmetto Economic Development Corporation's newsletter, Palmetto Power, the best in its class. In addition, NREDA named PEDC's website (www.SCpowerteam.com) and its primary brochure "Why Companies Locate in South Carolina" as best in their respective promotional classes.

The Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) gave awards to PEDC for its brochure "Why Companies..." and Palmetto Power at SEDC's annual meeting.

Electric Co-ops Launch Security Campaign
Some of Semaphore's electric co-op clients offer their customers security programs and systems. A new wide-ranging campaign tells the story with statistics and testimonials. As one co-op explains: it needed to be honest and "in your face." When it comes to family and home safety, we agree.

Holiday Schedule
Semaphore's Thanksgiving to New Year's schedule is as follows:
Closed Nov. 24-26
Closed Dec. 20-24 and Dec. 31

While you are marking your calendars, go see Semaphore's Cynthia Gilliam at Trustus Theatre, starring in the play Talking With. It runs until Nov. 13.
