esources December 2004

In December's esources, we focus on ways to improve, buy and commission photography for your advertising. That includes hearing about and seeing the work of some wonderful photographers who took the time to give us the gift of their sights and insights. Carry this information home and use it for your holiday photos as well; you never know what might become next year's Christmas card - or holiday ad! All of this and much more in Semaphore's monthly guide to advertising and public relations.

Semaphore Accountant Bursts to Holiday Card Win
Last month, Semaphore friends were invited to go online to vote for their favorite holiday card designed by Semaphore staffers. When all the votes were tallied, Semaphore Accountant Amy Kinard's holiday greeting card was the clear contest winner (pictured at top). Thanks to all who voted, and look for the winning card in your mailbox this holiday season. (The idea pictured on the right didn't win, but we love it anyway.)

Laurens Economic Development Gets a New Image Rolling
Working in conjunction with the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce, Semaphore designed an exciting new image to be the centerpiece of a new look and feel for a Laurens' economic development brochure. The image, a wheel in motion, is symbolic of Laurens' ability to accelerate an industry's progress with numerous business development incentives and a location in the middle of several of SC's most advanced industrial centers.

Staff Departure/New Staff Arrival
Semaphore is pleased to announce that Account Executive Marian Pearce was recently named director of public relations for Flint Energies in Warner Robbins, Georgia. Unfortunately, Marian had to depart from her duties at Semaphore to begin work in her new position. She will be missed by all clients, staff, and friends of Semaphore.

Semaphore is also happy to announce a new addition to fill Marian's spot. Diana Blackwell joined Semaphore's staff at the end of November. A former vice president-corporate marketing for Wachovia Corporation/Charlotte, Diana's background includes extensive experience in corporate event management, community and government affairs, media relations, writing/editing, public information, and strategic corporate communication services. Her full bio will appear soon on our website.

Sovereign Logo Approved
Sovereign Homes, Columbia's reigning builder of customized homes, recently approved their new logo created by Semaphore creative staff. The logo features a triangular shaped roof and a crisp new look and feel. Look for it on Sovereign communications pieces soon.
