Electric Cooperative Surges To Big Awards
Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative (MCEC) won the prestigious Award of Excellence at the Electric Cooperatives of South Carolina Annual Meeting, held December 2, 2004, for its entry into Living in South Carolina magazine. A panel of out-of-state newspaper and co-op magazine editors served as judges for the award, given to the cooperative that is the best in the state at conveying important and educational news to its member-owners. MCEC also took home the award for best use of photography. Semaphore congratulates this client on an outstanding showing.

Writing for Y'all
Semaphore writer Ashley Byrd's article on music star Edwin McCain will appear in the March-April issue of Y'all magazine. Published in Oxford, Mississippi and distributed nationally, Y'all is the "magazine of Southern people," and can be found at any Barnes and Noble bookstore.

Business 2.0 calls itself "The magazine for a new generation of business leaders." We love its pithy articles that readers can take in between meetings and emails. It also features some of the most creative business ads we've seen lately.

HUT - Households Using Television
An estimate of the number of households within a specified coverage area that are viewing television during a specified time. During this time of the year, HUT numbers are usually high because of factors like weather, fewer daylight hours in the evening, new episodes in prime time, and special network sweeps programming.
