There once was a client, impatient
To create a new image sensation
So she found great resources,
In March's esources,
For ads and good public relations

Features

Business Beat
It takes more than luck, charm, or a lucky charm to get you through a public relations crisis. Semaphore's senior writer, Robbie Robertson, takes a look at some recent blunders and successes.

We Can Help
This time of year we prepare for lots of things: a new season, tax returns, basketball finals, seasonal celebrations, and…annual reports. Annual reports don't have to be a perennial pain. Here's some help in getting a head start on next year's planning.

Synopsis
If you want to get more power out of word-of-mouth publicity, don't reach for the Blarney Stone! Instead, reach for Malcolm Gladwell's book, The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference.

Central Connects by CD-Rom
For the second year, Semaphore has produced Central Electric Power Cooperative's annual report on interactive CD-Rom. This year's report is titled, "The Central Connection," and continues to feature video and web link components in an easy-to-use format.

As seen on TV: Three Rivers Behavioral Health Ads
Semaphore has created a new broadcast campaign for Three Rivers Behavioral Health, one of the region's leading treatment facilities for substance abuse and behavioral health issues. The campaign is patient-centered and features three distinct treatment categories: adults, teenagers, and seniors.

Girl Scouts, Women of Distinction
The Girl Scout Council of the Congaree Area asked Semaphore's senior art director, Kathy Shuler-Cousson, to design a new look for their "Women of Distinction" awards materials. Artist Toni Elkins, a Congaree Area Girl Scouts Board Member, asked for a different and, of course, a distinctive approach (click here to see). On April 9, the group will be honoring five area women who show distinctive leadership and community service.

To the Faire Isle
We're all green with envy because Semaphore President Cynthia Gilliam will be on vacation in Ireland from St. Patrick's Day until April 4. We wish her luck and hope that she'll bring some home with her as well!

Mina Tonight!
Mina Tonight!, a play by Semaphore's Robbie Robertson will be coming home to SC in early April. The comedy has been performed at playhouses all over the nation, but this is the first time in the state at Anderson's Electric City Playhouse. Believe in snap judgements, intuition and the power of the "collective unconscious? Then Blink : The Power of Thinking Without Thinking is for you. Malcolm Gladwell's book examines how people make decisions and why some people are better at it than others. A fascinating read.
