esources December 2005

In December's esources, it's not Christmas until Santa rides the electric razor! During the holiday season, advertisers shift to messages of nostalgia and family and we expect and even happily anticipate it. Semaphore explores the nostalgic (and the odd) but remembers and celebrates the giving nature of the season.

Co-ops Earn Magazine News Awards
Six cooperatives earned awards of excellence in the 2005 Living in South Carolina Magazine Cooperative News Awards Contest: Berkeley, Aiken, Mid-Carolina, Lynches River, Newberry and Marlboro. Earning awards of merit were Blue Ridge, Coastal, Fairfield, Laurens, Palmetto, Santee and York. Best-Use-of-Photography awards went to Berkeley and Marlboro. The Living in South Carolina Magazine Cooperative News Awards Contest celebrates electric cooperatives and their exemplary communication efforts.

New Look for SCSU Publications
In one of its first tasks for client South Carolina State University (SCSU), Semaphore worked closely with school officials to create a new template for the SCSU newsletter Focus. The new design debuted with the publication’s November issue. Semaphore staff members continue to work on creating a new template for the Review, a more comprehensive University publication published annually.
